The Prophet is book #2 in the Shepherd Series by Ethan Cross.
The opening chapter plunges you right into a tense and violent situation where Ackerman a monstrous psychopath is describing to three people who he has tied up how he is going to torture and kill them.

 Moreover their is another killer called the Anarchist who is a puppet for a villain named The Prophet, who is being hunted by Department of Justice Special Agent Marcus Williams.


This sounds complicated and it is but Ethan Cross weaves the intricate plot together so seamlessly and effortlessly that its a joy to read. I just could not put this book down.
