Black Irish

By Stephan Talty

This book is set in South Buffalo the home of the largest Irish community in New York. This once thriving community with its manufacturing plants and steel mills, has become a city in crisis with many young people leaving the area to find employment.

The community is scared thanks to series of grisly murders where the bodies are mutilated and the only thing the victims have in common is that they belonged to a secret society with links to the IRA.

Absalom ( Abbie) Kearney is the cop charged with catching this serial sadist, shes tough but an outsider no one trusts, not the community or her fellow officers.

This is a very gritty crime thriller, with lots of twist and turns and very
graphic and sadist. This book is not for the faint of heart, but it is a very well written novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
4.5 stars
