A Matter of Trust

By Lis wiehl

Wow this book took my breath away, with its dramatic opening, Mia Quinn is chatting on the telephone with her friend and colleague Colleen, when she hears a gun shot and listens in horror as her colleague and friend Colleen dies.

Mia’s is charged with heading up the murder investigation, and she reluctantly teams up with detective Charlie Carlson to investigate Colleen’s death. But upon investigation Charlie and Mia link colleens murder to that of another prosecution staff member. But the deeper they dig, the more complications unfold—even the unsettling possibility that someone may be coming after her.

Mia's home life is spiraling out of control, with the sudden death of her husband, Mia is left with a troubled teenage son and a traumatized four year old daughter who wakes up screaming every night and debts. She should be spending more time at home but she needs her job and owes it to her friend to catch her murderer.

This book apart from being a fantastic read, surprised me by dealing with really important side issues like bullying and the ramifications of it. I really applaud Lis Wiehl for her hard hitting writing I couldn't put this book down.
For those of you who love a good thriller she is definitely an author to watch. 5 stars
