The Immortal Rules

By Julia Kagawa

I'm always looking for something new and exciting to recommend to YA readers who visit our store and this will definitely please most of them. Its Vampire fiction without the glitter (thank god).

Allison Sekemoto hates vampires she lives and survives in the Fringe, the outermost wall of a walled-in city, ruled by vampires where humans are walking blood bags for the vampires who live there. Outside the walls is something even worse rabids, these blood thirsty creatures have a taste for humans and vampires alike, and are the victims of a vicious disease.

By day, she and her friends scavenge for food. By night, they strive to stay alive. Allison is defiant and brave, until the day it gets her killed, now she is the thing she hates most.

Allison flees the city, and joins a ragged group of pilgrims seeking a legend—a place that might have a cure for the disease that killed off most of civilization and created the rabids, the bloodthirsty creatures who threaten human and vampire alike. And soon Allie will have to decide what–and who–is worth dying for…again
